SFG & CC LADIES’ GOLF NEWS
The Ladies’ Annual Spring Medley concluded on Saturday, June 12th. We had 26 players entered in this competition where participants qualify to play in the Intersectionals, the Trafford Cup, the Ethel Ferguson tournament, and are seeded for the Directors’ Match Play trophy.
The Trafford Cup tournament was played at the Mississippi Golf Course on Wednesday, June 16th. Our Smiths Falls team was 1st runner up. Congratulations to Joanne Flegg, Helen Wyman, Marion Kay, Tracy Staples, Pauline Kolano, Debbie Zielinski, Dot Ahern, Robin Milks, Kathy Ovington, Karen Kerr, Louise McInnis and Susan Flegg. Joanne Flegg was awarded 3rd low gross of the day.
Our Club will be host to teams from the Hylands, Buckingham and Kanata on Monday, July 12th, for the Intersectionals. Congratulations to the successful qualifiers for our 2010 Team: Helen MacEwen, Chris Colton, Joanne Flegg, Kathy Ovington, Janice Stenzl, Susan Flegg, Karen Kerr and Patti Blue (Alternate).
The Ethel Ferguson qualifiers for this year are Chris Colton, Helen Wyman and Debbie Zielinski. At the completion of the Spring Medley, low gross and low net scores are presented in each flight. This year’s winners were:
Flight ‘A’ – low gross (Joanne Flegg) and low net (Helen MacEwen)
Flight ‘B’ – low gross (Tracy Staples) and low net (Marion Kay)
Flight ‘C’ – low gross (Marie Garvin)
Special mention goes to Beryl Young and Debbie Zielinski who started the season off with holes-in-one, on #16.
